Trust principles
Capture requires participation
KEPT is designed for informed, active participation. It is not a covert monitoring tool. A voice session cannot begin without the required consent state.
The partner is not the product
KEPT does not sell personal information, build advertising profiles, or turn internal interview signals into employee rankings. KEPT does create internal signals that guide the interview, such as where knowledge appears incomplete or where a participant seems open or guarded. The Privacy Notice describes them; they are not provided to employers as profiles or scores.
Access is deliberate
Business knowledge is separated by workspace and governed by roles and explicit access grants. Being in the same company does not automatically provide access to every person's knowledge.
Answers show their work
KEPT is designed to connect generated answers to supporting knowledge and citations. AI can still make mistakes, so important decisions require human review.
Deletion has an audit trail
Every deletion path is audited: what was asked, what was decided, and what ran. On a personal plan, deletion is self-service and runs on the schedule the Privacy Policy states. In a business workspace, the captured work product belongs to the workspace, so a member's deletion becomes a request the workspace's owner and admins may approve, and approval runs an audited erasure; a pending contractual request without a deadline may also be disapproved with a recorded reason or left open. Disapproval changes no account access or knowledge, and the person can see the reason and submit a new request. Where the workspace's jurisdiction grants a legal erasure right, the request runs on a clock instead, whatever the workspace prefers. The Privacy Policy carries the full mechanics.
Your controls, by plan
This is a guide to the existing controls, not a change to your agreement. The Privacy Notice, Terms and applicable agreement govern.
Personal workspace
On a personal plan, you own your memory and manage its visibility and deletion yourself. Your personal workspace is separate from a business workspace. Only keep material you have the right to use.
Business workspace
Knowledge captured for a business workspace belongs to that workspace. Partners retain visibility, removal from view and in-session retraction controls. Permanent deletion follows the workspace request process, unless a provisioned legal erasure window applies.
- Correction and removal from view
- Remove a wrong piece from your record and from answers. During a live interview, the companion confirms a retraction before applying it. These controls are not a promise of post-hoc transcript editing.
- Suppression
- In a business workspace without a provisioned deletion window, removal hides the piece from everyone and stops its use in answers. It does not itself destroy workspace-owned work product.
- Deletion request and final erasure
- Personal deletion is self-service, subject to recovery periods and lawful holds. Business deletion is a recorded request the workspace may approve or leave unanswered without a deadline. A provisioned jurisdiction window can instead require automatic erasure when the window ends.
- Restoration
- For items removed under the current policy, personal plans and provisioned jurisdiction windows normally allow 30 days to request restoration by email. Suppressed business items without that window may be restored on request while they still exist. Older removals and lawful holds have the exceptions described in the Privacy Notice.
- Export
- Use the available export controls for data you are permitted to access. An export does not grant rights to workspace-owned or third-party material. Read the export guide.
- Departure
- Ending workspace access does not transfer workspace knowledge to a personal plan or erase it. Deletion requests remain subject to the applicable process. Read the departure guide.
Raw sources and distilled knowledge
Business raw material, including transcripts, original uploads and chat threads, has a 30-day default retention window, extendable by contract up to 365 days. Distilled knowledge has no default expiry. Personal plans have no default purge. Deletion rules and lawful holds still apply.
Keeping a knowledge item does not promise permanent access to its original transcript. Sources can become unavailable after retention or removal. Check what evidence is available before relying on an answer.
Kept's own systems retain the transcript rather than original capture audio after live processing. Provider-side handling is governed separately by the applicable agreement. Account, consent, audit, diagnostic and backup records follow their own rules in the Privacy Notice.
